MACA ROOT

Lepidium meyenii

The maca root is a plant that grows principally along the Andes mountain range. This plant grows in abundance in the altitude, in area that can reach 4400 masl. It is a nutritious root that has been cultivated for thousands of years by several South American prehispanic cultures and civilizations.

Consuming maca root can help with problems associated with infertility and impotence.  It reduces the symptoms of hormonal disorders in menstruation and menopause and regulates hormones. It also reduces cholesterol and provides a lot of energy since it has a lot of proteins and fiber.

Many people use it in purees and puddings. However, consuming it converted into powder makes it easy to include it in morning shakes and smoothies, pastry and salads by just sprinkling a teaspoon of maca powder on them.
