PASSION FRUIT


Passiflora Edulis

It is a perennial plant that grows of to 10 meters of length in vines. It likes warm, tropical and subtropical weather and grows in South and Central America. They produce hard fruits, with yellow skins or outer layers that cover a juicy inside part that is full of seeds. The smell and flavor are characteristically citric.

This delicious fruit has a lot of benefits, it has a large amount of vitamin C, which makes it an ideal to increase blood circulation and treat arterial obstruction. Passion fruit pulp is commonly used to prepare many things:  from deserts and ice cream, juices, smoothies, liquors, to marmalades. The seeds also have vitamin C, which makes the oil extracted from them ideal to improve blood circulation when used topically. The oil is also an excellent relaxant and has anti-inflammatory properties, making ideal for massages.
