Sacha inchi or Inka nut is a plant native of South America and grows on tropical areas with acidic soil and close to water bodies. It has been cultivated in the Amazon rainforest of Peru by indigenous people for thousands of years.   

Sacha inchi produces green, star-shaped fruits (they turn dark brown when ripe), which contain brownish seeds of 1.5-2 cm in diameter.  Once they are dried, the seeds are eaten because of their incredible amount of omega 3, 6 and 9. This is ideal for brain development and regulates cholesterol levels. Due to their abundance in omegas, they can easily replace fish in any diet, being an ideal element in the diet of any vegetarian or vegan.

It is highly energetic and the oil extracted from it is another way to consume all the proteins and fatty acid that this nutritious seed contains. The oil is also very good to moisturize and repair the skin from allergies or irritations.
