In early 2000, our organization went through an economic crisis, due to a large drop in the international price of nuts, thus causing heavy economic losses for Candela.This led us to restructure and make drastic decisions in
the production lines developed until then. We decided to focus on the processing and marketing of Amazon nuts, developing harvesters groups organized and committed to caring for the environment, and who would be the basis of the value chain of this wild product. Focused on amazon nuts category, Candela started developing niche markets, such as the organic market, and developing value-added products such as amazon nut oil.
