Copaiba is a tree that grows in tropical Amazon areas of South America, especially in Peru and Brazil and reaches between 20 to 30 meters of height. This tree produces an oil or oleo-resin in its trunk that has been used in native communities in Amazon rainforest, due to its antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also proved that it is good to treat mycosis related problems. Drinking a single drop of copaiba resin helps treating sore throats.
It is also very useful to cure wounds and activate circulation of articulations. It is used in several preparations for muscular pain relieving cream and balsams. The resin is also known for its use to make varnishes, lacquers and as an alternative source of trementine.
