Since 2001, we have been implementing an Organic Program aimed at training harvesters in the sustainable use of Amazon nut. The program monitors and ensures compliance with the organic and bio trade principles at each stage of the production process, from the field to the Lima processing plant.
In 2014, 300 amazon nut harvesters aprox. participated in the Organic Programme, receiving inspection visits from forestal inspectors from CANDELA and receiving training on how to sustainbly obtain natural resources, the appropriate management of residues, understanding of the biodiversity in the area and the protection of natural regeneration.
This programme also makes sure that the rules of the organic certification principles are followed in every stage of the process from the forest to the processing plant in Puerto Maldonado.
